New CEO of Sunseeker announced

12th June 2019

It has been announced that Andrea Frabretti has been newly appointed as CEO of the Poole based British shipyard. He moves from the internal position of Chief Technical Officer to take up the role, following the departure of Christian Marti.

Prior to joining Sunseeker at the start of this year, Frabetti spent over 25 years within the Ferretti Group, including a period acting at vice president of product development at the Italian superyacht powerhouse.

His new position at Sunseeker is accompanied by a number of other changes focused on increasing efficiency and streamlining the production process, whilst maintaining product quality. As part of this scheme, a committee composed of Frabetti, Michael Straughan and Mike Millian (CFO) will develop a strategic framework for the Sunseeker business that uses the success of 2018 sales to build the brand. The existing executive management team will remain closely involved, with a company representative issuing the following statement, “The focus for the company moving ahead will be on the new product development plan supported by excellence in operations, an engaged workforce and a strong commercial focus to drive profitable growth.”

The second part of this new internal strategy focuses on the manufacturing process, maintaining the high quality of luxury yacht that Sunseeker is famous for, whilst increasing efficiency during production.

Christian Marti was thanked for his contribution to the company by John Zeng, the board representative for Sunseekers majority shareholder Dalian Wanda. “On behalf of Dalian Wanda, we would like to thank Christian for his input, professionalism and leadership,” said Zeng. “Christian leaves Sunseeker in a very healthy position focussed on its future growth.”
