New CEO for Turquoise Yachts

13th May 2019

Leading Turkish superyacht builder Turquoise Yachts has appointed a new CEO as a part of its strategic plans for the future. The appointment of Patrik von Syndow as CEO comes as part of Turquoise Yachts’ long-term plans to build on its strong market presence and increase its market share and order book. Current CEO Mehmet Karabeyoglu – the founder and shareholder of Turquoise Yachts – will be stepping down from his role in July 2019.

Von Syndow’s appointment is one of several major changes to the yard’s senior management team. Karabeyoglu, who has played an integral role in building the strong Turquoise Yachts brand, will remain on the yard’s Board of Directors, with a focus on sales and marketing. Arie Van Andel, who has joined Turquoise Yachts from Dutch yard Oceanco, and Dr Mohammed al Barwani will form the remainder of the board. “It is my absolute pleasure to welcome Patrik and Arie to our team. Both will be able to contribute greatly to the continuing growth and evolution of Turquoise Yachts,” says Karabeyoglu. The yard is looking forward to the positive impact of these changes. “We trust this new structure will bring enhanced strength to Turquoise Yachts,” says al Barwani, “And we are convinced it will propel the company to the next level.”

Von Syndow brings a huge amount of experience to the role, having worked as managing director for a number of international companies, with a particular specialisation in yachting, manufacturing processes and engineering. Companies he has previously worked with include British yachting brand Sunseeker and Turkish shipyard Numarine. This knowledge and hands-on experience will lend itself well to the role allowing von Syndow to apply his vision to building on Turquoise Yacht’s already impressive reputation.  Likewise, Van Andel has extensive yachting knowledge following his years at Oceanco, and will bring invaluable insight to the role.

Founded as Proteksan Turquoise in 1997, Turquoise Yachts has built a reputation for forward-thinking designs and exceptional build quality. With large modern facilities, it creates large custom motoryacht projects, with each build tailored to its owner. The yard works with a number of well-known designers, including H2 Yacht Design, Winch Yacht Designs and Novulari Lenard. The largest yacht launched by Turquoise Yachts is 77m Go, delivered in 2018, and the yard has several yachts under construction including 53m Tala.

58m Baraka, built by Proteksan Turquoise in 2010, is one example of the yard’s beautiful work and represents an exciting buying opportunity. Visit the KK Superyachts WEBSITE to learn more about  58m BARAKA yacht for sale.
