Heesen delivers 55-metre Vida to her new owners

9th May 2019

Dutch yard Heesen Yachts has proudly handed over their latest new build, 55-metre Vida (previously Project Antares), to her new owners. Vida has now left Dutch waters on her maiden cruise to the Mediterranean where the summer cruising season is just beginning. Combining huge on-board spaces with impressive speeds, high stability levels and low consumption that outshines other yachts of her class, she is a true head turner. Vida was built for experienced owners who worked closely with the yard to pool their combined experience and create their dream superyacht.

Vida is one of Heesen’s most advanced builds to date, with rigorous sea trials in March demonstrating her exceptional performance levels. She features a progressive FDHF (fast displacement hull form) hull, developed by Omega Naval Architects, which helps her to achieve efficient performance with low fuel consumption levels and an impressive range of 4,500nm at 13 knots. On sea trials she exceeded predicted speeds, reaching 16.4knots while still within noise and vibrations requirements. Representing a first for Heesen, she is the first Heesen yacht to comply with the latest emissions regulations and has also been built to Lloyds 100A1 ✠ SSC YACHT G6 [✠] LMC LARGE COMMERCIAL YACHT LY3.

Boasting a stunning interior by B Design that is contemporary and stylish, key design features include a backlit ivory onyx arch framing the aft entrance to the main saloon that doubles as an artistic storage facility for wine bottles. A floating staircase, which also features backlit onyx, is another striking feature that demonstrates the exceptional levels of craftsmanship on offer from the Heesen team. The yacht is able to welcome up to 12 guests in six large cabins, including the huge 80sqm owner’s apartment, located in prime position on the main deck. Spaces abound inside and out, with the 11sqm sundeck set to be a popular hub for guests to relax in and enjoy. On-water living is enhanced with the 80sqm beach club, which includes a fully-equipped modern gym and easy access to the water via the swim platform – perfect for diving into the ocean after a workout.

Vida will make her debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2019. A beautiful custom superyacht, with a huge number of advanced features and impressive performance credentials, she is an example of what can be achieved with a custom superyacht build.
