Heesen delivers 50-metre Masa

1st July 2019

Renowned Dutch shipyard Heesen has announced the delivery of the latest vessel in their 5000 Aluminium Class. Built all from aluminium with a semi-displacement hull, the 50-metre yacht has been christened Masa (hull number YN 18750). Prior to delivery, Masa  underwent two days of sea trials in the North Sea during which she performed at speeds greater than the contractual speed of 23 knots.

Masa’s interior design is by Cristiano Gatto and features many similar elements to her sisterships in the Heesen 5000 Aluminium Class series, including stand out design features such as silver leaf ceilings, curved furniture and brushed spruce. The overall effect creates a light and airy interior, extending through the shared interior spaces to the six guest cabins. Accommodating up to 12 guests, the cabins include an owner’s stateroom located on the forward main deck, and on the lower deck a full beam VIP cabin, two doubles and two twins, all en suite.

Exterior design is the work of Frank Laupman of Omega Architects and Masa boasts a classic design and streamlined lines that evoke speed, creating an overall look that ensures she is immediately recognisable. Several features have contributed to her distinctive aesthetic including her mast and pelican beak bow with negative sheer. With a classic Awlgrip white colour scheme, this Heesen yacht is a striking vessel, with the yard team proudly describing her as ‘a rare and precious diamond’.

This truly unique vessel is due for delivery in 2020.
